Abstract

This project intends to analyze the origins and elements that constitute the doctrine of space as pure intuition a priori in the excerpt from the Critique of Pure Reason called Transcendental Aesthetics. The interpretations of certain commentators favor an approach to the questions that contribute to the Critique of Pure Reason as a whole, and not specifically to Aesthetics, both as regards its main questions, as to which texts - by Kant himself and by other authors - were decisive for what came to be presented in Aesthetics. Given these discussions, we intend to establish a guideline for certain passages of the texts of Kant in which the problematic of the space is treated, having as horizon the establishment of a certain progression in the treatment of the subject. This thread will start from the mature formulation of the problem and its solutions, in the Critique of Pure Reason itself, and will return to its earlier formulations within the author's thought, so that in this way we can rescue the changes, as well as identify similarities between formulations proper to the text of maturity and the previous texts that we will address. Therefore, in order to complement this study with the study of transcendental aesthetics, we will analyze the 1768 booklet entitled On the foundation of the distinction of regions in space, and the Dissertation of 1770, in view of the latter a precise cut of its third section, whose content already presents, albeit broadly, as we shall see, some elements of the Kantian transcendental aesthetic presented in Critique.
