Abstract

Migraine is a primary type of headache with a high prevalence of vestibular symptoms, like vertigo and dizziness. These symptoms may exacerbate migraine impact on the quality of life, and can be related to vestibular disorders, that can be assessed by optokinetic movements, as saccades and antisaccades. This BEPE project involves an internship with Roberto Teggi, a professor with expertise in Otolaryngology. With him, the undergraduate student will follow a project about saccades and antisaccades in patients with PPPD, a vestibular disorder commonly associated with migraine. In that way, the student will know a method to evaluate the vestibular function and also will be able to apply this knowledge acquired with professor Teggi in her Brazilian project (process number 2017/20839-6), improving the understanding process about the postural control and its relationship with visual stimuli and vestibular symptoms.
