Abstract

This Thematic Project, congregating two of the most important musical institutions in Brazil, both at the Institute of the Arts at the State University of São Paulo (Unesp) - the StudioPANaroma of Electroacoustic Music and the PIAP ensemble -, aims: the spectral analysis of the most important instruments belonging to the percussion/resonance category under the prism of harmonicity and inharmonicity and their consequent catalog; the historical rescue of fundamental musical pieces of contemporary music for percussion with or without piano and electronics (both in differed and in real time), which were never performed in Brazil; the realization and actualization of the electroacoustic resources for the further performance of these works; the development of new computational tools in real time, having as main parameter the pair harmonicity/inharmonicity of spectra and new trends in sound synthesis, in view of the interactivity between electronics and these instruments of the percussion/resonance family; the conception of new pieces as part of the results of the researches; the publication and divulgation of all the results, including the realization in concert of the historical pieces as well as of the new ones. Concerning the spectral analysis of the main instruments of the percussion/resonance family under the perspective of harmonicity/inharmonicity, this Thematic Project aims to realize something very new and audacious even in international terms, since such a systematic research was never made anywhere.
