In Brazil, the fire safety requirements of buildings are defined in state legislation and in the Brazilian standard ABNT NBR 14432: 2001 - Fire resistance requirements of building elements of buildings; where the requirements that must be met for sealing and insulation are prescribed for a sufficient time to enable the occupants of the building to escape safely, the safety of fire-fighting operations and the minimization of damage to adjacent buildings and the infrastructure public. Currently, steel structures and mixed steel and concrete structures as well as concrete structures projects already have specific norms for the fire situation: ABNT NBR 14323: 2013 and ABNT NBR 15200: 2012, respectively. However, there is no standardization in the country for structural masonry in this situation and, therefore, it is still necessary to consult international standards. This work aims to characterize the components and elements of structural masonry of concrete blocks, determining the performance and physical and mechanical properties for blocks with different types of aggregates, as well as to understand and determine basic parameters for structural masonry concrete blocks in a fire situation. Thus, formulate a consistent and systemic proposal of contributions for the future revision of the standard. In addition to establishing a first national standardization on the subject, it is expected that the research will be a reference material for companies, works, legislative power and agents that will need to provide subsidies on the subject and produce relevant academic material with the publication of articles national and international levels.
