Abstract

The study of characteristic classes of singular varieties is a current theme and has been widely used in several areas of Science. The aim of this project is to study Schwartz-MacPherson strands through the classical Singularity Theory bias. The central approach of the project is the use of Thom's polynomials, which will provide an appropriate tool for the development of issues that generalize classical enumerative problems in Singularity Theory.
