Abstract

The propose of this project is to create an long dataset of São Paulo city for PM10 and PM2.5 levels and composition, following a sampling protocol of 1 year (performing an annual campaigns with collection of PMx during 24h ever 3 days). The goal is to characterize the similarities and heterogeneities in PM sources and contributions on metropolitan area. In combination with the SOPRO project there will be developed the measurements of source profiles.Once the main sources of PM10 and PM2.5 are identified, the strategic goal of the project is to test and develop specific measures to improve air quality in São Paulo, targeted to meet air quality standards and to approach as much as possible the WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines.
