Abstract

The use of water in a rational and careful way for irrigation is one of the main agronomic concerns due to the scarcity of this resource. Specific studies of the effect of irrigation depths on agricultural crops are necessary to correctly recommend the cultural management in this production system for optimization of water resources. For this, the use of spectral indexes and simulation models are promising techniques for the determination of best practices of agricultural management for crops. The objective of this project is to evaluate, explain and modeling the effect of irrigation levels on grain yield, nutrient exportation, and indices of vegetation and chlorophyll in determined and indeterminate growth bean genotypes grown in the winter season. The project also aims to define the best irrigation level and sowing season for the winter crop in the Jaboticabal/SP conditions, using the CSM-CROPGRO-Dry Bean model. The experiment will be carried out at FCAV/ Unesp, Jaboticabal, SP, in the winter crops of 2019 and 2020. The treatments will consist of five irrigation levels (2 in excess and 3 with deficit) and two bean cultivars, one of early cycle and another one of middle cycle, in block bands design, with four repetitions. The export of macronutrients by the plant, leaf area index during the cycle, production components, grain yield, water yield, vegetation indices (NDVI and IRVI), chlorophyll index (ICF), N content and total chlorophyll in leaves, in addition to monitoring soil moisture. The results will be adjusted to response models based on vegetation and chlorophyll indices, using regressions and artificial neural networks, in addition to being submitted to analysis of variance and Tukey test for the comparison of means. The experimental data will also allow the calibration of the CSM-CROPGRO-Dry Bean model for long-term simulation of the production of bean cultivars and water and nitrogen balance under Jaboticabal conditions.
