Abstract

This study aims to evaluate surface roughness, morphology and color change of enamel infiltrated with Icon® low viscosity resin, which will be subjected to brushing cycles with dentifrices and rinses with whitening action. Enamel blocks of human molars will be submitted to simulation of carious initial lesion in demineralizing solution (DES) and infiltrated with Icon®, according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The specimens will be divided into five groups (n = 20) according to the dentifrice to be used: Sound enamel - control (GC), Maximum Protection Antibodies - Colgate (GI / MPA), 3D White Perfection - Oral-B (GI / WP), Luminous White Advanced - Colgate (GI / LWA), NuPearl Advanced - Oralgen / NPA), and will undergo 30,000 cycles of brushing. After that, the groups will be subdivided according to the mouthwash used: Colgate Luminous White XD Shine and Listerine Whitening Extreme, and then the samples will be submitted to the mouthwash cycle for 45 days. Surface roughness analysis will be performed in a 3 - period rugosimeter (T0 - initial, T1 - after brushing and T2 - after use of rinses). To evaluate the morphology, the scanning electron microscope (SEM) in 3 times (T0 - initial, T1 - after brushing and T2 - after use of mouthwashes) will be used. The color evaluation will be performed using a spectrophotometer using the CIE Lab system in 3 times (T0 - initial, T1 - after brushing and T2 - after use of mouthwashes). The data will be analyzed by ANOVA 2 factors of repeated measures.
