Associated to the scholarship:18/01541-9 - Theory of unhappenings and journalistic narrative: a study of the journalistic work of the Spanish Bru Rovira, BP.DR

This project aims to investigate the journalistic production of the Spanish journalist Bru Rovira, analyzing two representative books of his reporter work: Solo pido un poco de belleza (2016) and Áfricas: cosas que pasan no tan lejos (2006). The research aims to identify narrative devices triggered in his news practice, promoting articulation with the journalistic matrix of Unhappenings (VENTURA and ABIB 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) - which underpins our ongoing doctoral project. In order to do so, we organize our studies in two axes: bibliographical research on the fields of knowledge of the Sociology of Daily Life and Communication for a Culture of Peace - which, it is believed, are well connected to Rovira's two books, and field research, to be carried out through semi-structured interviews with the Spanish journalist and other professionals who work with him in the Catalan daily Ara and La Vanguardia. With this, it is hoped to broaden the understanding of the dynamic and professional contexts of Bru Rovira as well as, starting from an intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue, to foster reflection on narrative paths to register the reality of social actors who are outside the interest hegemonic public and media.
