Abstract

For prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with maxillofacial deformities with medical silicone Gum Rubbers (HCR), it is necessary to use adhesive / primers to better the adhesion of silicone prostheses to human skin. Drying adhesive is a good solution, but unfortunately its high cost and difficulty of purchase compromises access to this material. The objective of this study will be to compare this method of adhesion with other more accessible methods, measuring the force necessary for the discontinuity of its union in initial periods, after 4 hours and after 8 hours. It will be made 120 samples of colorless silicone Gum Rubbers (HCR) and pigmented with Functional Intrinsic II Silicone Coloring System, distributed in 12 groups (n = 10). These will be adhered to the inner face of a volunteer human's forearm following the applied adhesive system (Drying Adhesive, Corega® denture adhesive seal, Pritt Tenaz® white liquid glue or Kiss NY semi-permanent eyelash glue. ®) and its test time (initial, after 4 hours or after 8 hours). Subsequently, it will be submitted to the Peel Test attached to the universal test machine EMIC DL 3000 where a constant vertical traction force will be applied until the adhesion failure occurs. For statistical analysis (ANOVA) at a significance level of 5%, normality tests and test to analyze homogeneity of variances for all dependent variables (P> 0.05) were used. If a difference is found, the Bonferroni test will be applied as posthoc to identify the group in which this difference occurred and compare their mean values (± = 0.05).
