Interstitial: a women body in between the male violences of State, drug traffic and family

Abstract

During the year of postdoctoral research, I want to analyse the several violences that affect young women's bodies, living in militarized territories, taking into consideration the multiplicity of male agents of these violences. Those are drug traffickers, members of military police, and even family. I intend: 1) to analyse how these violences concretely affected women bodies and how they are entangled in moralities and sexualities; 2) to follow different strategies adopted by women to 'reinhabitate the quotidian' after the experience of violence; 3) to discuss the relations between gender, generation, and race, taking into consideration the different, objective and subjective, effects that surround them. In a sense, I am interested in the concrete configurations in which the violences are exercised in ordinary everyday life and will be watching the diverse gendered actors that either perpetrate or receive these violences, in order to understand how they are embedded in the quotidian and how they constitute social relationships.
