Abstract

The Titanosauriformes composes the most abundant clade of Sauropod dinosaurs, distributed worldwide during the Cretaceous, but the several phylogenetic analyses made up to this date to the group resulted on proposals highly incongruent between them. Aiming to understand the reasons that caused such incongruities, it is proposed here a set of meta-analytical studies based upon the Titanosauriformes phylogenies published on the last years. The resulting hypothesis will be subjected to an ancestral area analysis, using the parametric probabilistic model on the package BioGeoBEARs to the R Environment. Therefore, the new proposal will be usueful not only to understand the evolutionary patterns of the group, but also as a background to investigate the biogeographic history of the Titanosauriformes.
