Abstract

In this work we will investigate distinct syntheses routes and characterization of molybdenum dissulphyde (MoS2) nanostructures, once such materials presented a broad variety of technology applications, including sensors (optical, electric and electrochemical), semiconductors (voltaic cells and battery) and photocatalyses (H2 evolution and organic pollutants degradation). Among the several syntheses available in the literature to produce MoS2, our work will explore ball milling (top-down) and hydrothermal synthesis (bottom-up) associated to ultrasonic exfoliation, which will emphasizes on products purification and synthesis reaction yield. The characterizations to be employed are Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (DRX) and spectroscopies: Raman, Fourier transformed infrared absorption (FTIR), X-Ray photoelectron (XPS) and photoluminescence. Is also intended the immobilization of MoS2 nanostructures in polymeric matrices, which should meet some criteria: flexibility, chemical stability and processability, enabling the utilization of polymer nanofibrous mats. The hybrid nanostructure system will be applied as a remediation system for contaminants in aqueous solution through the adsorption of pollutants, aiming at agricultural and environmental applications.
