Effect of the low intensity laser on different cell lines of dental pulp of deciduous teeth

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the effect of different energy densities of Low Intensity Laser on cell viability and proliferation of two cell lines from human deciduous pulp: stem cell from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED) and pulp fibroblasts. SHED and pulp fibroblasts will be obtained from the pulp of human deciduous teeth and characterized by immunofluorescence and flow cytometry. After the fourth passage, the sample will be irradiated with low intensity laser to the following groups: Group 1: 2,5 J / cm2; Group 2: 3.7 J/cm 2; Control: Not irradiated. After irradiation, the MTT Assay and the Violet Crystal Assay will be performed to evaluate cell viability and proliferation, respectively. The values in triplicate will be analyzed by ANOVA followed by Tukey test and Kruskal-Wallis analysis complemented by Dunn's test when obey normal and non-normal distribution, respectively. The significance level of 5% will be adopted for the differences considered statistically significant.
