The main goal of this project is to find UltraMetal-Poor Stars in the photometric surveys forfuture statistical studies. With the advent of SDSS, SkyMapper, Pan-STARRS, DES, LSST andJPAS (in two-three years time scale), etc, there is a large archival source for developing newtechniques (e.g. artificial neural network) for finding low-metallicity stars. The identifiedobjects will ultimately be subject to high-resolution spectroscopic follow-up. The Posdocwill be highly involved with large survey datasets and is expected to contribute inthe effort to make the selected candidates available to the international community. Inaddition, we anticipate a BEPE proposal after the first two years, with the goal of workingwith international collaborators on this project.
