During pregnancy, as energy and nutritional needs are increased and the consumption of milk during this phase gives the mother many macro and micronutrients. The increase in infant intake is associated with a lower risk of recovery from small to gestational age (SGA); Increase in the probability of weight for gestational age (GIG), gestational weight gain, body weight and at birth, abdominal circumference and cephalic perimeter. In this sense, there is a need to evaluate the consumption of dairy products in Brazilian pregnant. The objective of this study is to investigate the consumption of dairy products during pregnancy and its possible association with the baby's birth weight and the mother's gestational weight gain. This is a study carried out in Botucatu, in which two cohorts of pregnant women enrolled in the prenatal of primary health care were followed up. The data were collected in the three trimesters of gestation and two 24-hour reminder were performed at each moment. The data entry was recorded in the Nutrition Data System for Research (NDSR) software. The birth weight of the babies was obtained by the Information System on Live Births (SINASC) and the gestational weight gain was estimated from records in the pregnant women's charts. Will be analyzed the amount of dairy intake in each gestational trimester will be divided into 5 groups: milks, cheeses, yogurts, milk preparations and dairy products and their possible associations with maternal and infant outcomes. The associations will be investigated through consistency analyzes followed by descriptive analyzes and univariate and multivariate regression analyzes, all of which will be performed in the Statistical Package of Social Science for Windows (SPSS), version 20.0, considering p <0.05 as the level of statistical significance.
