Abstract

In this research internship abroad project we address the possibility of generating entanglement and other phenomena resulting from quantum correlations in cold atomic ensembles scattering light, focusing on the dilute limit, where dipole-dipole interactions are dominated by the far-field terms. Atomic clocks in optical lattices are particularly interesting platforms to implement this limit, due to the high degree of control they offer. Entanglement and correlation quantifiers, such as squeezing and multiple quantum coherences will be thoroughly investigated in this particular context. The study proposed here will address some of the questions we have previously raised in the main project, while also sharing overlapping topics with the fields of quantum simulation and quantum metrology.
