Abstract

The occurrence of tuberculosis and human immunodeficiency virus coinfection is a public health problem since virus infection is considered an important risk factor for the development of tuberculosis, either by pathological interaction or by a combination of determinants that favor evolution of the disease in both conditions. Objective: To analyze the health care provided to people with Tb/hiv coinfection, considering their quality of life. Method: This is an exploratory, descriptive, multi-method approach. The study scenario will be a reference center for AIDS in the municipality of São Paulo. The inclusion criteria will be: age equal to or greater than 18 years, regardless of sex, result of reactive serology for HIV, treatment of TB and TARV for at least one month, and physical and cognitive conditions to answer the questionnaire. People who live on the street or who belong to the penitentiary system will be excluded. The study sample will be performed for convenience and defined through the saturation technique in qualitative research. A semi-structured questionnaire will be used for data collection, composed of closed questions and guiding questions. The data will be analyzed in light of the Theory of Social Determination of the Health-Disease Process. The project will comply with the norms of Resolution 466/2012 and will be submitted to the Research Ethics Committees of the Federal University of São Paulo and the health institution where the data will be collected.
