Abstract

In this project, we will explore some continuous flow photocatalyzed reactions using porphyrins as photosensitizers. Our main goal is to advance in feasibility and scale-up studies of catalytic processes by using porphyrinoids, and studying arylation reactions in C-sp2 (coumarins), specifically starting from diazonium salts which generate aryl radicals by photocatalysis via Single Electron Transfer -SET. In particular, we propose to carry out a directed scope for application in the synthesis of natural products such as coumestans. The development of protocols in a continuous flow regime will be essential in this project since it should bring safety, scalability and efficiency to the studies. It is important to highlight the positive differentials that the continuous reactors have shown when developed and applied in photo-processes (photocatalyzed reactions in general).
