Abstract

The use of membranes that help in guided bone regeneration process (ROG) is also a part of compatible biomaterial studies that help this repair process. Objective: Evaluating and comparing through microscopic and histomorphometric study the guided bone regeneration using different sources of membranes in critical defects created in rat calvaria. Materials and methods: It will be used 72 Wistar Albinus rats divided into 3 groups, with 6 animals for each group: control group only with clot; group that received collagen membrane of bovine group (Lumina Coat®); and collagen membrane of porcine group (Bio-Gide®). Six animals from each group will be sacrificed at the 7, 15, 30 and 60. After, it will be carried out laboratory formalities and submitted to histologic histomorphometric and immunohistochemical analysis.
