This project, part of the main undergraduate research 'War on Terror and Television: The TV series Homeland and the United States' answer to Muslim terrorism (2011)', proposes a research internship abroad in Boston, MA under the advisement of Professor Jeffrey Melnick of the University of Massachusetts-Boston. The research aims to study the 4th season of television series Homeland. The main objectives are: analyze the way in which the War on Terror is portrayed; understand how the Middle East countries, in particular, Pakistan, and the Muslims are represented; discuss how the TV series depicts diplomatic relations and the Drone War. It's important to state that our research aims to understand the TV series as in a dynamic relation between being influenced by the context but also influencing the public opinion. In this sense, we want to establish the relations between the changes and continuities in the TV series and in the two mandates of President Obama. (AU)
