Abstract

Fluorescent probes capable of detecting entities involved in biological disorders may find important applications in diagnosis and even treatment of certain disorders such as by intercepting a particular entity or blocking some metabolic pathway. An efficient way to identify specific pathologies, especially those associated with oxidative processes is by detection of oxidizing entities, that here, for practical purposes, we will call endogenous oxidants (OxEn).
