Abstract

The inspiratory muscle training (IMT) has been applied as a not conventional method to improve the performance of athletes, due your contribution to reduction of dyspnea and peripheral muscle fatigue. However, little is known about the effects of IMT on cardiovascular autonomic control, which are determinant factor to maintain of cardiovascular homeostasis, both at rest and during sports activity. The objective of internship period is to apply innovative methodologies of analysis and explore the results found on the autonomic cardiovascular control after different intensities of IMT. During this period, the student will learn about the methods of data analyze, since Prof. Dr. Alberto Porta has wide experience in biological signal processing and interpretation. Moreover, this internship could define the best method for data analysis, making it possible to direct this training modality in clinical practice, to benefits the autonomic cardiovascular control more effectively.
