Abstract

In this work, doped lanthanide coordination polymers will be obtained and characterized using different aromatic linkers. Ligands such as proline, phenylalanine and aminoterephthalic acid will be used. Lanthanide ions Eu3+ and Tb3+ will also be used, preferably in the form of metal chlorides. The work will begin with the attempt to obtain an unpublished luminescent doped compound. Possible doping will also be studied. The synthesis of the coordination polymers will be carried out by different synthetic routes, such as conventional method, solvothermic synthesis (using electric heating and by microwave radiation) and mechanochemical synthesis (without solvent). By this way, it will be possible to determine which synthetic route will be the most efficient for obtaining the doped polymers. Experimental parameters such as solvent nature and pH will also be studied to investigate changes in the properties of the products. The obtained species will be characterized by elemental analysis, vibrational spectroscopy in the IV region, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffractometry, electron microscopy, luminescence spectroscopy and nitrogen adsorption.
