Abstract

An intelligent transportation system integrates data, communication, and computing to solve various problems in the traditional transportation systems of big cities, such as traffic jams and accidents, for example, to reduce travel time and increase the quality and safety of journeys. In this way, an efficient solution for an intelligent transport system must be able to integrate many urban data sources, among them data from vehicular networks and web data on various issues of the city. Actions in this direction illustrate an emerging area of study, called urban computing. This project aims to advance the state of the art of urban computing by providing solutions for intelligent transport systems that integrate urban web data and vehicular networks. For this, this project will investigate new techniques for collecting, integrating and analyzing large volumes of data from different sources, as well as propose mechanisms of dissemination, knowledge extraction and information control for applications in intelligent transport systems. Finally, it should be stressed that this project is linked to the thematic project financed by FAPESP (process, 2015/24494-8). (AU)
