Abstract

The investigations in The Kingdom and the Glory by the thinker Giorgio Agamben demonstrate the hegemonic establishment of oikonomia regarding the contemporary politics, having as background the Christian concept of trinity. From then on, in his works Opus Dei and Highest Poverty, the author presents possible escape routes as alternatives to the heavy control of the biopolitical devices of control, which are imposed on mankind, particularly on the West. The paradigm of effectiveness/operativity on Opus Dei points out to an ontology of the command and the one who exercises government, governs himself and others, performs a function compared to the office. The Franciscan concept of usus proposes a life outside law and property, which is later brought under the sign of living "as if not," deposing all property, both legal and social, without such deposition implying the foundation of another reality of sovereignty. It is the objective, as of this project, to expand the interpretive horizons about the work of Agamben even further, which in good time have contributed greatly to the reflections on politics and religion in contemporaneity.
