Disposable sensors using waterproof paper and graphite conductive ink for the detection of pharmaceutical interest analyses

Abstract

The creation of different architectures for the development of sensors has been showing exponential growth in recent years. These enable the development of technologies that can help in a better quality of life, through the possibility of detection of diverse compounds. The development of new electrochemical sensor architectures seeks advances, not only in matters of a practical nature, but also technical and technological improvements. In this context, the use of disposable sensors, which enable the detection of analyses of pharmaceutical interest, in a miniaturized and relatively low cost manner, becomes interesting, once it can be used routine inspection of drugs and quality control. Taking account these motives the present project aims the development of a disposable electrochemical sensor that is easy to manufacture, by using impermeable paper and conductive ink based on nail polish and graphite powder, for detection of low concentrations of analgesics of pharmaceutical interest as proof of concept.
