Emergency room and clinic of urgency: contributions of the intercessor device on the listening of the subject in illness

Abstract

This Ph.D. thesis project refers to the operability of the Clinic of Urgency as a listening device to the subject in suffering in a Hospital Health Care Unit. The intent is to exercise the praxis of the psychologist, workerintercessor, in a public emergency room, referenced and structured in harmony with a Health Care Unit and its Urgency and Emergency Network (RUE) organizing the hospital units. The definitions of the Clinic of Urgency device has already begun during the scientific initiation and the master thesis. We intend to go further, defining their basis in a more accurate approach. The Clinic of Urgency in the hospital context is turned into the subjects in suffering, affected by accidents and several kinds of sickness. The invitation to the speech treatment, which aims to enable the emergence of the subject of unconscious in the enunciation of its speech, allows himself to give other meanings to the illness process, through its own story. This way, what is said can be articulated during the speech, while the not-spoken can be turned into spoken. We understand that the Clinic of Urgency while working under the protection of the Intercessor device, which is our theoretical-technical tool, amplifies its field of action-reflexion to the whole Health Care Network, demanding of the psychologist to act as a sort of articulator in this network, who must be alert by the Freud-Lacanian psychoanalysis. Considering the reduced number of scientific works from the Clinic of Urgency and the psychoanalytic listening in the emergency room, it seems a good opportunity to better formalize the basis of this praxis, thus collaborating with the formation of professionals in this field and with the existing literature.
