Abstract

The osseointegration depends, among other factors, on the implant surface. The literature describes several ways to obtain changes in microtopography of the implant (titanium plasma and calcium hydroxide, anodizing, sandblasting, etching, laser and combination of techniques). The micro-texturization of the implants are strategies used to promote better bone anchorage. Thus, taking into account the development of new implant surfaces aimed at qualitative and quantitative improvement of osseointegration, the objective of this project is to perform an in vivo study, including healthy male rabbits, white New Zealand race. To assess the biological response 4th generation of a new implant surface modified by the addition of nano-hydroxyapatite by histomorphometric analysis and micro-CT. This will be installed two types of mini-implants (machined treated with double etching and adding nano-hydroxyapatite) in the maxillary sinus region of healthy rabbits (n = 32). The animals will be euthanized at 30 and 60 days. The regions of the maxillary sinus containing the bone graft and the implants will be collected removed and fixed for subsequent three-dimensional analysis and histological processing. The results are expressed as mean ± standard deviation of the groups in each period. pre-tests will be performed to assess the normality of the data. Based on the results, the appropriate statistical tests to analyze the differences between groups will be selected in each period (30 to 60 days), and intra-group, in relation to different times. In all analyzes, it will be considered p <0.05.a new implant surface modified by the addition of nano-hydroxyapatite by histomorphometric analysis and micro-CT.
