Abstract This research project aims to investigate the transit of people, practices, spirits and categories in Maputo, capital of Mozambique, focusing on the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (IURD) and its followers. This will be done, considering that we are facing a recent but complex change in the religious field in Mozambique, which is evident in the reconfiguration of the "spirit world". The operationalization of this research will include the observation of IURD rituals, as well as interviews with faithfuls and visitors and analyzes of media materials of the said church, seeking to perceive the intersection of ideas and practices between the agents of the IURD and those specialized in contacting the spirits in that region - especially the Tinyanga (as the traditional doctors are called) and the prophets of the Zione churches.
