Abstract

Taking into account preliminary results from the laboratory of prof. Correia, we aiming at studying the sequential intramolecular Heck-Matsuda reaction using carbon dioxide in a new carbonylation process. Several studies are planned, including the reaction conditions which would allow the synthesis of the desired products in high yields and enantioselectivities, in route to the preparation of bioactive dihydrobenzofurans. Among the reaction conditions to be evaluated we can highlight the solvent in view of its influence for high conversion and enantioselectivity. The synthesis of the starting materials in an effective way will also be carefully evaluated, as many of these complex salts are chemically unstable. (AU)
