Abstract

The objective of the proposal presented in this project is to promote an inclusive education, which lacks in Brazil. Biology classes in high school often use visual resources to properly teach its contents, thus excluding students that are blind or have a low vision. From this premise, this project seeks the development of a teaching activity regarding evolution that will allow the understanding, interpretation and conceptualization of the content to other senses of the body, thus making it easier for students with visual impairment to follow the class. This activity will first concentrate on Darwinism, Neo-Darwinism and the evolutionary theories, following the usual curriculum of secondary schools. Two other issues with the drafting and planning of this project are the selection of cheaper and ecologically correct resources, making it easier to carry out and improving the chances of a less excluding education. The foundation of the project will be the study of published scientific references that comment on the science education for students with visual impairment through the use of several alternative resources. These papers will be analyzed based in qualitative assumptions, using content analysis techniques. With the result of the analysis, it is expected that the activities developed in the project follow the fundamentals of the area and can be applied to the regular teaching of biology. (AU)
