Abstract

The interaction of a dental implant in the bone as well as the performance of this device is dependent on the relationship that occurs in the bone-implant interface. The technique of processing called plasma immersion ion implantation (3IP or IIIP) has been used since the mid-90s in order to modify the surface of the materials. The aim of this study was to correlate osteogenesis and in vitro biofilm formation on Ti surfaces submitted to different parameters of the IIIP oxygen technique (IIIP-O). The samples will be submitted to the IIIP-O treatment with different temperatures, aiming to obtain modifications in the titanium oxide layer. Then the samples will be characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). In the step on the optimal results, see cell and alkaline phosphatase viability, besides cell adhesion and formation of mineralization nodules, will be evaluated after culture of cells of the MG-63 cell line (human osteoblasts) on the samples. For the analysis of monotypic biofilm formation, standardized suspensions (106 cells / mL) with aureus, S. mutans, P. aeruginosa and C. albicans microorganisms will be cultured for 24 hours on the samples and submitted to the MTT test. The data obtained in all the tests will be analyzed by means of the normality test and later the appropriate statistical tests will be chosen adopting a level of significance of 5% (AU)
