Abstract

The preoccupation towards scientific data management is a trend that aims to make research products more accessible and reusable. With that in mind, LIS - Laboratory of Information Systems, from the Institute of Computing - UNICAMP create the software framework W2Share, to store and exhibit scientific workflows. A workflow is a step-by-step description of a process used to fulfill a goal, usually expressed in terms of inputs, outputs and activities, or processes. Activities are mainly computer simulations or data analysis. The use of workflows in the scientific community aims to facilitate the reuse and understanding of research steps. However, workflow repositories do not offer features that allow users to evaluate the quality of a workflow. It's not possible to differentiate what each workflow does and which one is more suitable for the researchers desire. This scientific initiation project will propose a solution to that issue and implement it on W2Share. (AU)
