From the 90s of last century increased commercial application of metals with amorphous structure is being observed in products such as micro gears, springs, watches and mobile phones housings. This is due to the development of new compositions and processes that allow the production of large parts "bulks" (with dimensions of the order of millimeters or centimeters in contrast to the traditional amorphous ribbons with a few tens of microns thick) with exceptional mechanical properties. The major challenges, scientific and technological, are the development of new compositions that have high glass forming ability (GFA) and the development of manufacturing technology of the parts with geometry and required dimensions, the latter with the challenge of low thermal stability of amorphous structure. The main goal of current Scientific Initiation project is to study the route for bulk samples processing by using atomized Fe43.2Co28.8B19.2Si4.8Nb4 alloy amorphous powders and consolidation by hot extrusion.
