Abstract

The current Brazilian industry presents the necessary machinery for greater industrialization in civil construction. This brings social, economic and environmental benefits throughout the lifecycle of buildings. Just as it allows the production of different constructive elements at lower or equal cost, comparable to conventional methods - as the mass customization proposes. However, changes in architecture and civil engineering are slow and many are resistant to changes in traditional processes because of ignorance of the applicability of the advantages of industrial processes if applied in their respective areas of knowledge. This research proposes to analyze how algorithms can be applied to the civil construction industry. For this, the intention is work with prof. Ingrid Paoletti who researches at the area of digital manufacturing and mass customization not Laboratory of Technical Information in the Department of Construction Technology and Science (BEST) at Politecnico di Milano. Also, visits to the industries in Milan will allow the practical observation of this connection. It is expected that, at the end of the internship period, an overview of the potentialities for the applications of algorithmic process within civil construction industry. (AU)
