Abstract

This research is an integral part of the FAPESP project "Between self-regulation and formal government: the challenges of self-build housing and facilities", specifically composing two of its intermediary stages and consists of a direct follow-up of the activities at Edifício Avenida Ipiranga (Edífcio Dandara), as well as the works of the Maria Domitila Building and subsequent activities with the beneficiaries, both destined to housing of social interest by the Federal Program MINHA CASA MINHA VIDA ENTIDADES - PMCMV-E. The research aims to note how the individuals or families involved in self-construction experience such experience from the mobilization with the housing movement, through production (design and execution) and finally in the housing phase in each of the two cases, taking into account also the place of the city in which they are inserted.
