Abstract

It is known that the incidence of skin cancer has increased in the last decades, which is related to increased sun exposure. Recent studies have shown that trans-resveratrol (RES), a substance naturally found in grapes, due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can be an important ally in the prevention and treatment of cutaneous disorders such as skin aging, hyperpigmentation and carcinogenesis. Although there are several studies demonstrating the benefits of RES for melanoma treatment, others demonstrate the low bioavailability of this oral substance in humans, which may be circumvented by its skin administration through encapsulation in solid lipid nanoparticles (NLS). NLS are dispersions formed by nanometric particles that have high physiological stability and a matrix composed by solid lipids. These have several advantages over other release systems, such as the possibility of prolonged, controlled and target-specific release of encapsulated drugs, therein, increased drug stability, facility of production on a large scale, among others. Within this context, the aim of this project is to perform in-vitro skin permeation studies of trans-resveratrol from NLS, using human skin. In the preparation of the nanoparticles will be used the Ultra Turrax 24,000 rpm. After being homogenized for particle size reduction, the pre-emulsion formed will be sonicated. The permeation experiment will be conducted using Franz FDC static diffusion cells or Franz type glass cells using a 2.0% (w/v) polysorbate 80 aqueous solution. (AU)
