This study aims to develop a novel nonlinear control system to optical interferometer based on fuzzy TS methodology, in order to ensure its performance, and guarantee the operation around the optimum point. It is noteworthy that the design of nonlinear control systems stills an open problem. The goal is to assembly a closed loop interferometer capable to operate in harsh environments with high accuracy. Additionally, the Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) approach will be used to optimize the system behavior, ensuring the designed performance indices. Also, the closed loop interferometer will be used to characterize cylinder piezoelectric actuators, determining its frequency response, highlighting resonance frequency, linearity and hysteresis.
