This work aims the study of the interaction between the phospholipids DPPC (1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylcholine), DPPE (1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine) and DPPS -dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylserine) with the emerging pollutant amoxicillin using biological membrane models. The target emergent pollutant, amoxicillin, is an antibiotic drug widely consumed in Brazil, used in the treatment of various bacterial infections. In this work, the effects of the pollutant will be studied in biological membrane models composed of different phospholipids, all them constituents of the mammalian plasma membrane. For this, Langmuir films will be used as biological membrane models. In these films, the interaction of the amoxicillin with the monolayer of the phospholipids will be studied through the surface pressure by average molecular area isotherms. The monolayers in the absence and presence of amoxicillin will be deposited by LB technique on mica and gold mirror for the analyses of atomic force microscopy (AFM) and infrared microspectroscopy with Fourier transform, respectively. The information obtained here will help elucidate the effects of this drug on human health. It is important to emphasize this study is part of a complete study of the research group to which it is inserted. The global project seeks to evaluate the effects of emerging pollutants on human and animal health focusing on different mimetic membrane compositions as well as the possible synergistic effects of mixtures of emerging pollutants of the same class (additive effect) or different classes (cocktail effect).
