Abstract

Limeira, in the state of São Paulo, has an important role in the production of jewelry and fashion jewelry in Latin America. Part of this productive process is carried out informally, within households. Analyzing this problem from the perspective of the "exposome", the totality of exposures that the individual is subjected throughout life, the lifestyle of these young people (life and study conditions, leisure, sleep cycle), an important "exposome" component, the objectives of this project are: a) to evaluate the impact of informal work carried out at home on the youth's sleep-wake cycle during the summertime; b) to verify if their hours of leisure and study are influenced by the household work of jewelry and fashion jewelry and c) to evaluate whether there are differences in living and working conditions of the youths between the school and the vacation periods. Therefore, the study population will be composed of approximately 20 youths between the ages of 11 and 17 who live in informal workers' homes inserted in local productive arrangement of jewelry and fashion jewelry in Limeira, São Paulo. Questionnaires will be applied to assess living, study and sleep conditions. Descriptive statistics and multiple logistic regression will be applied to the data. We expect to aggregate important results on the informal work impact on the lifestyle of young people belonging to the families that already participate in the study on human exposome, funded by FAPESP.
