The uniformity of a herd is influenced by environmental and genetic factors. The most common environmental factors are the management system, feeding, climate, among others, which should be considered in statistical modeling, in order to distinguish the genetic factors that affect the phenotypic variance. Inbreeding is a common practice among breeders of pure breeds, aiming to ensure racial uniformity and fixation of characteristics peculiar to certain lineages of famous bulls. This study aims to identify the effects of inbreeding on progeny uniformity in Nellore cattle. Data from participants in Fazendo Mundo Novo and the CFM Program will be used in the southeastern and midwestern regions of Brazil. The database is composed of approximately 500,000 animals with 15 measured phenotypes and about 600,000 animals in the pedigree file. The organization and preparation of the data will be carried out with the aid of the R program and the database manager program VisualFox Pro®. The CFC software will be used to calculate inbreeding from the pedigree information. The genetic parameters will be predicted using the maximum likelihood (REML) method using the Wombat software. In order to estimate the inbreeding coefficients for homozygosity (ROH), genotypic information from approximately 4,000 Nellore animals from these herds, previously genotyped with Illumina®BovineHD Beadchip assay and GeneSeek GGP Indicus LD and HD according to protocol Of companies, GeneSeek GGP indicus LD chips will be allocated via FIMPUTe software to the HD level.ROH will be detected with PLINK software v.1.07.
