Abstract

In this project the purpose is to study the dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) of primary amines in which some nickel catalysts dispersed in different supports will be used. DKR consists of a reaction in which an enzyme and a metal catalyst are used in order to produce enantiomerically pure molecules. These molecules are important in the manufacture of many drugs because of their potential biological activities. In this proposal, we will prepare nickel catalysts supported in dolomite, which will have their catalytic activities evaluated in the DKR reactions, to find reactive conditions that furnish the best enantiomeric excesses and yields. In addition, the use of nickel catalysts supported on alkaline earth metals in DKR reactions is also the objective of this project. Initially the DKR will be performed with simple substrates, in order to find the best reactional condition, and then extended to functionalized compounds. (AU)
