Contributions of psychology to the understanding of truancy in high school

Abstract

This research comprises the set of investigations of the research group "processes of Constitution of the subject in educational practices"-PROSPED, psychological interventions line and processes of human development, graduate program in the strict sense in psychology from PUC-Campinas. Binds to the group project, titled "School Psychology in the confrontation of indifference in school: interventional art mediated practices". Adopts as theoretical-methodological assumptions of Cultural-historical Psychology, especially of Vygotsky and his readers. This study aims to identify the index of avoidance of first-year students of the high school of daytime and nighttime periods and analyze the perceptions of managers and teachers about the reasons for circumvention. Will be part of the research directors, pedagogical coordinators and teachers of high school of a State public school located on the outskirts of Campinas, SP. As sources of information will be accessed the records of the school on enrolment and dropouts, observations of classrooms and teachers meetings recorded in field journal, semi-structured interviews with managers and teachers, and meetings with the managers and reflective teachers. It is expected, as a result, contribute to the development of actions that contribute to the reduction of tax evasion, especially at night, and the construction of the school psychologist proposals geared to high school.
