Abstract

The present project aims the synthesis of the complexes [Ln1(hfa)3(tppo)-(¼-L)-Ln2(hfa)3(tppo)], which Ln1 = Tb(III) and Ln2 = Eu(III); hfa = 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoropentane-2,4-dione; tppo = triphenylphosphine oxide; and the bridge ligand L = [(diphenylphosphoryl)R](diphenyl)phosphine oxide (R = methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl). It will be evaluated the efficiency of the energy transfer/retro-transfer processes between Tb(III) and Eu(III) ions, the emissions intensities and lifetimes according to the distance between the two metallic centers. The complexes will be characterized by NMR, FT-IR, Elemental Analysis, Thermogravimetric Analysis, Complexometric Titration, Raman spectroscopy, Electronic Spectroscopy of UV-VIS, Photoluminescence Spectroscopy, Photochemical Stability, Modeling and Semi-Empirical Calculations for complexes. The complexes may be used for temperature sensing. (AU)
