Abstract

The Rorschach Ink test allows us to evaluate aspects such as personality, perception of interpersonal and self-relation, among others. Since its inception, it has undergone several adaptations that are not limited to coding process. Currently, researchers have empirically sought the validity and accuracy of Rorschach's variables. Thus, researches that aims to verify functionality and propose new codes are being developed in several countries. A possible construct to be assed with the Rorschach is the emotional intelligence (EI), that is definied as an ability to monitor and discriminate the emotional in oneself and other emotions and use information to guide the thoughts and actions of oneself and the other. This is a field in developing both theoretical and empirical. In Brazil, there are a few instruments that assess this capacity through performance, the most of it are self-report measures, evaluating an individual's perception of their capacity and not necessarie s/he performance. Rorschach can be able to assess this ability. Thus, this study has as main objective to verify the relationship between EI measures and Rorschach variables aiming to investigate the possibility of predicting the performance of individuals in EI and proposal of a code or calculation in Rorschach. It is hypothesized that EI components present correlations with Rorschach variables. It is expected that this research add more knowledge about Rorschach's assessment capacity, allowing it to expand its use and reach. It is estimated that the study will contribute by providing an EI assessment through performance. (AU)
