Although feed efficiency is a trait of great economic and environmental interest, the selection of animals is difficult due to its polygenic character, under great environmental influence. Thus, there is a need for studies that integrate different sources of information to create a more complete understanding of the dynamics of molecular mechanisms related to this trait. We propose, in this project, a 6-month internship abroad with the Group of Computational and Systems Biology of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) to perform a multi-tissue genomic and transcriptomic analysis to compare high and low feed efficiency groups and identify main biological mechanisms related to this trait. Among the proposed analyzes are: differential expression, identification of regulator genes, network and pathway analysis, identification of functional polymorphisms and allele specific expression. We believe that the period will be enough to perform the analysis and the knowledge acquired will help not only to improve the quality of this work but also contribute to other works of the group.
