Abstract

The aim of this project is to develop and evaluate an electrochemical sensor based on reduced graphene oxide modified with silver, antimony and copper nanoparticles for the detection of the drug Roacutan - with the active principle isotretinoin - in natural water samples. The presence of this component in rainwater from rainfall can be related to the uncontrolled use of this drug in the treatment of acne and neuroblastomas that, after its administration, is excreted through the urine in the sewage system, thus becoming a pollutant environmental. The continuous ingestion of isotretinoin for long periods can lead to mental disorders and diseases due to contamination by this drug. In view of this scenario, it is extremely important to develop modern strategies for the analysis of isotretinoin at low concentrations. Thus, electrochemical sensors, allied to nanotechnology, will be developed to monitor this emerging contaminant in effluents aimed at public health. (AU)
