Abstract Samples of cold Rydberg atoms have been proposed as ideal systems to perform quantum computing. This is because these atoms have ultra-long range interactions. Making use of this interaction, several theoretical proposals utilize the internal states of these atoms to generate entanglement, and thus create the qubit. Of course, some interactions between a few atoms or higher order interactions (dipole-quadrupole and quadrupole-quadrupole) are not considered in these proposals. In this project, we propose the use of microstructures space in an optical dipole trap to investigate the interactions between atoms and some higher order interactions. (AU) | |
