Abstract

The magnitude of the urban problems of the city of São Paulo comes to a stage unprecedented, as both historical economic as urban policies problems seem to have mitigated, revealing the difficulties in the realm of ideas and solutions for the city. In relation to social housing, these stalemates are more evident as the massive public investments have not represented a qualitative change in different scales of the metropolis. Despite some important examples of housing solutions in "paulista" architecture indicating a more comprehensive proposal for urban space, there are no systematic studies that focus on this approach. The objective of this research is to identify the spatial patterns (understood as the relationship between architecture and city) in the projects of Favela do Sapé upgrading, in Rio Pequeno district at Butantã in process since 2004. In this sense, this research proposes: a) spatial analysis of the typologies; b) the relationship of these typologies with the existing city; c) the transformation of these spaces of habitat in the development of the city; d) the reception and incorporation of these alternatives to discipline and e) the consolidation of the documents of these projects for future research. The research, which stars from an agreement of international cooperation between FAUUSP and ETSAM-UPM (Spain), uses the GIVCO analysis methodology of Spanish collective for the study of the production of Brazilian and foreign housing. The result will be the production of Books (CHC) with the pradonized content that envolves images, technical drawings, historical data and quantitative data of the selected projects. This set of information will result in the "Books of Collective Housing" (Cadernos de Habitação Coletiva). The project continues a wider research, supported by FAPESP (n. 2013/14951-7), coordinated by the teachers Luiz Recamán and Leandro Medrano, from the History Department, with the participation of teachers Helena Ayoub, Marta Bogéa and Milton Braga, from the Project Department, of FAUUSP, dedicated to the study of some housing projects built in metropolitan area of São Paulo.
